For the merriest fellows are we
Never mind the why and wherefore
The hours creep on apace

I once was a very abandoned person
I am a maiden
Take my advice, when deep in debt
Were I thy bride
Excerpt from Finale Act I

Climbing over rocky mountain
On a tree by a river
Hark the hour of ten is sounding

Love, unrequited, robs me of my rest
Ho, jolly jenkin
